BNP Paribas has this morning reported its first quarter results. Of most interest to the securities services industry will be the news that revenues reached EUR 440 million, an increase of just 0.3 percent on the same period a year ago but up 1.7 percent on the final quarter of 2015.
The value of assets under custody was -2.7 percent compared with the first quarter of 2015, thanks to changes in market valuations. The volume of transactions was up 16.1 percent on a year earlier.
Assets under administration were up 11.5 percent on a year earlier but down 4.2 percent on the final quarter of last year. Significant new mandates included the Sampo Group, worth EUR 25 billion in assets.
