Mizuho Americas Hires Keith Wargo As Managing Director and Co-Head of Banking Coverage

Mizuho Americas has appointed Keith Wargo Managing Director and Co-Head of Banking Coverage. Wargo will lead Mizuho Americas‘ coverage of the consumer, healthcare, real estate and financial sectors. He will also manage the firm’s financial sponsor business and report directly to Andrew Dewing, Head of North American Banking.

Wargo will work closely with Michael Keating, Managing Director and Co-Head of Banking Coverage, and John Humphreys, Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking, Advisory & Solutions, to build out the overall integrated U.S. banking platform.

“The tremendous growth of our corporate and investment banking businesses has prompted a significant investment in both top talent and clients,” said Dewing. “Keith brings a strong track record of leadership and business relationships that will help further harness the potential of our growing platform while developing and expanding our client roster.”

Prior to Mizuho Americas, Wargo was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank, acting as Global Co-Head of the Consumer, Retail and Services Group for nearly 10 years. Before that, he spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs in various roles in the Investment Banking Division where he worked with clients across many verticals including consumer, retail, industrials and financial institutions. Wargo has also served in senior roles at BMO Capital Markets and as a consultant to Discovery Communications.
