New hire for New Capital

New Capital, a subsidiary of EFG Asset Management – an international provider of actively managed investment solutions – has recruited specialist UK equity fund manager John Leahy. Based in London, Leahy will be responsible for UK equities and will manage a dedicated UK equity fund to complement the New Capital fund range.

Before joining New Capital, John was at Hermes Investment Management where he ran UK smaller company strategies for 14 years, including the Hermes UK Small and Mid Cap UCITS fund. He joined the firm as an analyst in 1998, having previously worked at London-based group G. Ullman Fund Management as a US equity portfolio manager.

New Capital describes itself as a specialist investment house, with high-conviction strategies designed to produce long-term outperformance for clients. The firm recently launched the New Capital Global Equity Conviction Fund in May 2015, which marks the tenth UCITS fund in the New Capital range. New Capital’s assets under management currently stand at $2.5 billion as at the end of June 2015.
