A big day tomorrow for Ashwin Kumar as he becomes Deutsche Börse Group’s global head of product development, a newly created role. With the status of managing director, he will report directly to CEO Carsten Kengeter.
He will be responsible for researching new products, product enhancements and product redesign along the value chain, exploring business opportunities by identifying demand from both sell-side and buy-side firms.
Kumar was a founding partner of Meru Capital and worked for the hedge fund from 2009 until 2014. Previously, he was a founding partner of Old Lane. He has also worked for Bank of America, Commerzbank Securities, CS First Boston and Citibank in senior management positions.
During his career, he has gained significant experience in fixed-income (derivatives) trading, funds and portfolio management, says his new employer.
