Michelle Neal has been named as president of BNY Mellon Markets Group. Neal brings a wealth of financial services industry experience across the breadth of Markets Group activities, including global fixed income, foreign exchange, equity markets, collateral services, clearing, and electronic trading. Assuming her new role on November 30, 2015, Neal will report to vice chairman Curtis Arledge.
Most recently global Head of listed derivatives, markets clearing and fixed income market structure with Deutsche Bank, Neal takes over the role from Kurt Woetzel, who recently retired. She will be based at the Group’s headquarters in New York.

Neal, who holds US and UK citizenship, has held senior leadership positions with Nomura International, Royal Bank of Scotland, Fidessa LatentZero and Goldman Sachs. She began her career at MFS Investment Management in an analyst capacity. Her senior management responsibilities have included service as global head of electronic markets, listed derivatives and prime services and COO of execution services; global head of electronic markets and co-head of FICC prime services; director of product development & professional services; and executive director, equities electronic trading.
