Investment management firm PIMCO has appointed Emmanuel (Manny) Roman as its next chief executive officer, taking over when he joins on November 1 from Douglas Hodge, wo will assume a new role as managing director and senior adviser.
Roman has nearly 30 years of experience in the investment industry, with expertise in fixed income and proven executive leadership, most recently as CEO of Man Group PLC, one of the world’s largest publicly-traded alternative asset managers and leader in liquid, high-alpha investment strategies. He worked for more than 18 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was co-head Worldwide Global Securities and co-head of the European Services Division. He became co-CEO at GLG Partners in 2005 and chief operating officer of Man Group in 2010 following the firm’s acquisition of GLG. He was named Man Group’s CEO in 2013.
